Porcelain Cutout Insulator

Porcelain cutout insulator, as a kind of high voltage insulator, which used on drop out cutout. Cutout, known as fuse, is one kind of connection in the circuit to protect the disposable components of the circuit. When current is excessive ,the metal wire or sheet produce heat and melt, resulting in open and interrupt the current to protect the circuit from harm. It is used in transmission and distribution system and is adapted to serve under the influence of a fault current in order to interrupt the current.
How does the drop out cutout work?
It is melted by its self-generated heat, based on the current exceeds cutout predetermined for a period time, finally the circuit is disconnected. The porcelain cutout insulator won’t damage in this. According this working principle, drop out cutout is widely used on high voltage transmission and distribution system, also protective device. As a short-circuit and over-current protection, it is one of the most common protective devices.
