Tension Clamp

Introducton for tension clamp:

Tension clamp can be called strain clamp or dead-end clamp, which was used to fix the wire and withstand the tension of the wire for transmission line. Tension clamp as a main type fitting which hang the wire to the tension string or the tower.

The function of the tension clamp:

1.Connection function, used for line corner, connection, and terminal connection.

2.Theprotective function, its performance and efficacy can play a role in protecting and assisting the vibration reduction of the optical cable.

3.Fixing function, the tension clamp can withstand the tension of the wire and used to fix the wire or the pull wire of the tower.

According to the structure and installation conditions, the tension clamps can be divided into two types:

The first type: Tension clamps withstand the full tension of the conductor or lightning conductor. The clamp grip should not be less than 90% of the rated tension of the installed conductor or lightning conductor, but not as a conductor. This type of clamp can be removed after the wire is installed. This type of clamp includes bolt-type tension clamp and wedge-type tension clamp.

The second type: In addition to withstanding the full tension of the wire or lightning conductor, the tension clamp acts as a conductor. so, once this type of clamp is installed, it can’t be disassembled again, also known as a dead clamp. Because it is a conductor, the installation of the clamp must be carried out carefully in accordance with the regulations of the installation operation regulations.
